Tuesday, 29 April 2025 – Starting from the idea of making the Mahmudah Care Center Malaysia (PJMM) faith-friendly, this aspiration is now closer to being realized through a collaboration with Al-Islam Specialist Hospital via the Faith-Friendly Hospital Academy.

Reflecting on the early steps of PJMM, located in Bangi Lama, Selangor, in becoming the first elderly care center in the country with a faith-friendly concept, the center’s Secretary, Mr. Muhammad Syafiq Mohiadin, said that they had long wished to realize this goal but had not found a suitable platform.

“However, through the Jariah Collaboration Program of Ramadan Visit 2025 last Ramadan, a new chapter was opened for PJMM, placing us on the right platform to strengthen the idea of a faith-friendly elderly care center.

“Alhamdulillah, today (yesterday), the Faith-Friendly Hospital Academy has taken a major step in introducing the essential foundations to PJMM staff towards the mission of becoming the first faith-friendly elderly care center in the country,” he said.

The Elderly Care Enhancement Workshop: Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Wellbeing, held yesterday, was organized by the Faith-Friendly Hospital Academy and led by Ustazah Nurul Aisyah Amir Ramli.

The workshop was attended by PJMM staff and some residents. Also present was Dr. Ishak Mas’ud, Director of Al-Islam Specialist Hospital, who provided briefings and explanations on holistic elderly care methods.

The workshop content included health and spiritual care techniques for caregivers, as well as the importance of hygiene and safety in elderly care.

Additionally, the Faith-Friendly Hospital Academy incorporated both theoretical and practical elements, providing added value to PJMM caregivers in moving towards Malaysia’s first faith-friendly elderly care center.

Also present were the Nursing Department Manager, Matron Suzal Ashima Sulaiman, and the Clinical and Medical Records Development Manager, Ms. Mastura Ahmad.

It is hoped that this effort will benefit the community and gain the blessings of Allah SWT.
