Academy of Ibadah Friendly Hospital

Al-Islam Specialist Hospital is a private specialist hospital that has been operating since 1996, formerly known as Kampung Baru Medical Centre (KBMC).

The hospital provides professional, holistic services to patients covering physical, psychological, mental, and spiritual aspects, while consistently improving its standards to achieve its vision and mission.

The concept of the Ibadah Friendly Hospital (HMI) integrates Islamic principles into healthcare, ensuring that patients’ spiritual needs—such as guidance on prayer, ablution, fasting, and other acts of worship—are taken into consideration alongside medical ethics and regulations.

The Academy of Ibadah Friendly Hospital

Established in early 2019 and registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia under registration number 201804001977 (LLP0016359-LGN), the Academy was founded to provide specialized training for healthcare professionals and the public to support the implementation of the Ibadah Friendly Hospital concept

The Academy is a registered training provider under the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp/PSMB). Its trainers are highly experienced in developing and implementing the Ibadah Friendly Hospital model.

Chaplaincy

The awareness of meeting patients’ spiritual needs has driven Al-Islam Specialist Hospital and the Academy of Ibadah Friendly Hospital to introduce Chaplaincy practices, which have long been implemented in Western countries.

In Malaysia, religious visits to patients or volunteer support during end-of-life moments have existed but without proper training or guidelines. Since 2014, the Chaplaincy program has been adapted and tailored to align with Islamic principles and practices, ensuring that patients and families receive appropriate emotional and spiritual support.
