2 February 2026 – Alhamdulillah, the Psychosocial & Hospital Volunteer Workshop (BESS) was successfully held as a collaborative effort between HELWA ABIM Malaysia, Rahmah Support Team (RST), Hospital Pakar Al-Islam Kampung Baru, and ABIMedik at Outreach Oasis, Bukit Bintang.
This workshop was specially designed to develop a group of volunteers with high levels of sensitivity, capable of providing effective and empathetic psychosocial support to communities in need.
Three panelists led the sessions with valuable insights:
- Puan Nur Shamimi Shaharom, Counselor from RST, focused on emotional management.
- Dr. Zafri Ismadi Mohd Anis, Pediatric Consultant and ABIMedik representative, shared perspectives from a clinical standpoint.
- Ustazah Nurul Aisyah Amir Ramli from Hospital Pakar Al-Islam highlighted the spiritual dimension, emphasizing the role of chaplaincy in navigating challenges within hospital settings.
Through this workshop, participants gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical guidance on ethical and effective support techniques, ensuring that their role as volunteers creates a meaningful and impactful difference.
